zip file

would anyone please tell me how to install a zip file after I unzip it
I try ./configure
none of the above seems to work.
by the way, the zipfile that I want to install is cdrecord and j2re for jave runtime

after you unzipped it, there should be some type of INSTALL or README text files on how to install the app. most programs have different ways of installing.
