What are YUM repositories and how do you set them up?

I don't know anything about YUM repositories, but apparently (from the link I googled for below) YUM is meant to help make RPM systems more like APT (handling dependencies automatically, and whatnot). This article gives an overview on what they are, setting a repository up, and configuring your machine to use one.

If you use Fedora and derivtives, yum is usually already setup. You may however need to add more repositories if you require third party packages.
