yum updated error


Hi everyone I am trying to update my repos but I am getting the following package errors:

Error: Package: python-qpid-proton-0.14.0-2.el7.x86_64 (@extras)

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest


Can someone explain to me wwhy is this error accuring and how to correct the issue.Please and Thank you.

exactly what OS is it? What commands did you try to execute?
How did you configure your package repositories?

I think you cannot use both el7 and el8, but would be better to see the full story.

Thank you for the link! The OS is CentOS7. I used "yum update" and received the following output. The repositories where created with the installation of the OS.

it looks as if you have a Frankenstein system

A mix for Cent 7 AND!!!! Cent8

this is not good

uninstall ALL the el8 rpms and REMOVE the el8 repos
