yum dosen't work in CentOS 5

CentOS 5 X86_64

[root@xxx danielbackup]# uname -a
Linux xxx 2.6.18-128.2.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue Jul 14 06:36:37 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
[root@xxx danielbackup]#

[root@xxx danielbackup]# yum update
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
* base: download.srv.ro
* updates: download.srv.ro
* addons: download.srv.ro
* extras: download.srv.ro

and it keeps continue to connect but it dosen't connect at all. I remember it worked before. I have in /etc/resolv.conf external dns, and with that same dns yum works on other linux machine.
Wget dosen't work either. Is there anyway that I can configure yum to work like it worked before ?

Ok, fixed. Everything was fine except I had to route add default gw (server).
