Install a Firefox plugin from the Mozilla site, and click on it.

Did you try to look up any add-ons? What browser? Version/distro of Linux??

You can go to keepvid.com and paste the youtube URL to download different format of the video.
Hope it helps

I use movgrab on my slackware box. It works from a console.
I downloaded the sources and built a slackware package
as well a slax module.
If you use slax I could send you the link to my slax module.
Otherwise just grab the sources and build it on your
platform

movgrab is a downloader for all those pesky sites that insist
you use a big fat browser that runs flash in order to see
their content. It's a command-line app written in straight C,
and so doesn't require you to install perl. Nor ruby.
Nor python. Nor guile, scheme, glib, gtk, qt, gnome, kde,
X-windows, m4, firefox or windows. No! Not any of that!

Or in Ubuntu+Firefox (and probably in other distributions as well, I only say Ubuntu as that's what I have confirmed it working under ) any Youtube video you load is stored in /tmp. You can just copy this file to ~/Videos

Given the style if the question, i'd wonder if this has nothing to do with linux. Are you doing about windows?

if you are using Linux it's simpler than any plug-in or tool to get videos from youtube, simply let the video fully load then before browsing to another video, copy the FlashXXXXX file out of /tmp and give it an appropriate name and play it with your favourite video player (tested with vlc and mplayer) or convert it to something else using your favourite video conversion tool and play it with your favorite video player, this works on just about any site that uses an open flash player such as fail blog as well (note, hulu uses something else that doesn't show up in /tmp, but that would fall into the category of copyright protected material)
