Xubuntu install from a partition

I have been trying to install Xubuntu on someones older computer. The problem is that their cdrom drive is not working right, that and the memory is low. So what I want to do is copy the Xubuntu cd to a partition, bring the hard drive back to them and install it that way. Do I just copy it on a partition and thats it or do I have to do something else to get it to boot. I planned on copying Xubuntu to the first partition, if that matters.

(I don't have their computer with me and I don't have any extra cdroms to temporarily put in for an install.)

Hi,

If you are able to copy the CD image to a HDD, then why not run the installer, then place a complete OS in the old box?

I just have the hard drive with me and I am connecting it to my computer to copy the image to.

I am just going to try and copy it, then install G.A.G and see if I can get it to boot.
