xfce4-panel theme not applied unless startxfce4

Hi,

I am trying to use the xfce4-panel without window manager (as i use i3 already). The panel is visible and functional but themes aren't applied.

If i type startxfce4 and cancel it before creating second (interfering) window manager, the theme is nicely applied to existing panel.

Is there a cleaner way rather than edit /etc/xdg/xfce4/xinitrc?

Thanks for any help
Alex

can't you add it to i3's config?
