I tried to update the kernel on my PS2 from 2.2 to 2.4, but it won't run "make dep", so I'm stuck in the middle. One of the things the previous make did was set the /usr/src/linux to the non-functional 2.4 directory. I guess this matters, so I'm trying to set it back. When I try "ln -d ./linux-2.2.1_ps2 linux", it says "ln: cannot create hard link 'linux/linux-2.2.1_ps2' to 'linux': Operation not permitted." I thought that "linux" alredy being a link would have something to do with it, so I tried "ln -d ./linux-2.2.1_ps2 linux2". That didn't work either. The error was: "ln: cannot create hard link 'linux2' to './linux-2.2.1_ps2': Operation not permitted."
Oh, well. Now I just need to figure out how to change the title. When you hit enter on a one line input box, it submits the form. I hate when I do that.
The above post is refering to my original post "I hit the button too early. Hold on." (or something like that). I've edited it so it looks like he's gotten lost in the wrong thread, but he was making since before I edited it.
Heyyyyy... That might be a fun game to play in the General section. Make a post and after somone answers it, edit yours to see if you can get them to sound like they're saying something totally different. Heheheh.
