Hii
i need to download wireshark version 1.3.2 or 1.3.1 for my project on mesh networking. On the download page it shows me the OS support required is Win 7/Vista/2000/2003/XP .Would it still work on my system?? I am working on Fedora 11.
You can download the source code for Wireshark's older versions here for example. You'll have to check if it all works after compilation. Do you have any particular reason why you want to use such an old version (over a year old) which might contain several bugs that are fixed in the latest stable release? Another thing, Fedora 11 has reached end of life and is thus unsupported little over a year now. I suggest you upgrade to the latest release.
hiii
yes i know fc11 is outdated but i have edited the fedora.repo file to access the archives.I am working on 802.11s mesh networking and the wireshark requires a mesh support patch as it cannot understand the mesh packets. The patch is available only for some of the older versions 1.3.1 ,1.3.2.
Thanks for your help
No, I have no idea if mesh support is included in the newer versions. Thinking logically I would suppose that if a patch has been available for older versions and the function is 'needed' then mesh support would be included in following versions. I guess you'll have to wait for someone to confirm or try with a newer version.
yes i went for the same logic and googled the patch for newer versions but all i came up were patches for the older ones and i have read on the ns3 blog that any version would work as long as the .pcap files have been generated. So i guess i would try the older ones.
Thanks !!
