winex3 trouble - too confuddled

have been to transgaming and read all the FAQs and what they say happens is different to mine,. i am sure i am just missing something.

here goes:
i downloaded the file winex3-3.0-i386.rpm and installed it simply by clicking on it.
a temporary transgaming_drive was made in my /home/username directory

i inserted a cdrom with half-life on where the file setup.exe resides.

i did as the website said and typed to the terminal

$ winex3 Setup.exe

error message occured:
wine: chdir to /home/raistrick/.transgaming/wineserver-localhost.localdomain : No such file or directory

please tell me what i am missing

do a search on the forums, there's a workaround for this that's better than the one I use (I just don't recall it exactly)

Personally I just rm -rf /home/.../.transgaming/wineserv*

and everything works again.

no, its not that file, its really the one that's listed in your error message that is the culprit. Don't erase the binary in your /bin directory.

I don't know why its not there now tho.

As I said, if you run a search on these forums, its been discussed a few times with more knowledgeable people than I

by the sounds of it it is an RH9 problem. so SuSe8.2 has been ordered from amazon and i hope to try that by the end of the week. will use redhat for other things other than gaming. maybe in the future things will be different
