i recently move from windows xp to mandrake 9.2 completly but was wondering if i could play a game on linux via wine i have it proberly set up and the program exectes just perfect minus one problem i cant use the mouse to move the ingame cursor its like i'm stuck outside the window plez help a newcomer to
Linux.
Of and the game is Tribes 1. i'm using wine version 20040213.
thx for the replys you guys i tried winex 3.2 before i did the latest standard wine and it just installed it and gave me a bunch of errrors not from the code it self but from the game it self saying the directx wznt present. Bizarre but i got it to run full minus this problem with this one game. i tested it on others halflife and no window problem like t1 i'm starting to thinks its a hardware to software confilt with the code in normal wine.
but i'll shell out some money next check and reactivate my account with winex and try 3.3 for a change.
h yeah.. *smiles* Sorry about that spellign mistake. My GF was waiting for me and i was in a hurry...
I think all 3.x version of WineX had problems with CS.
At least them on my pc had that Or was that me?
I've not tried it with 3.3 yet, but since we're going to erase win2K from the pc in the livingrom and turn it into a linux box..... then i guess cs and a few other games will end up there too..
Just to nag visitors that we got a working X-box, PS2 and a LINUX machine that plays the music and games we want
I'll say that the subscription isn't that bad as it's sound. *smiles* I spend more money one evening when i go out drinking here in Norway than that costs me. So both me and my liver are quite happy with that
i know how tht feels bud 21 living in the states and hav a hangover the size of antartica..
but one major road block i hav no credit cards and they only take thoses. to my knowledge they dont even take moneyorders dam... any other suggestion cuz my friend got me into t1 and its a cool game but t3 its upcoming successor where t2 failed kicksass sry beta tested it 2 months ago on sierras polls..
if u know of anyother ways or of anygood games to play at let me know?
sincerely,
Gammak7
Oh sheesh HiC too much liquor ha wht u say --- snores offf...
peace and gl all
why not just get the CVS version then ?
open a terminal and do the following :
Quote:
1. cvs -d:pserver:cvs@cvs.transgaming.org:/cvsroot login
2. When prompted for the password enter "cvs"
3. cvs -z3 -d:pserver:cvs@cvs.transgaming.org:/cvsroot co winex
well i am not sure if your actually trying to tell me you don't have cvs installed or not, and if that is the case and you don't have it installed, then the mandrake9.2 rpm can be found at the below link .. HERE
