windows and linux network

how do i share files and printers between fedora 6 and windows? i tried the smb but its not working

Well. "the smb" is how it is done, so you will have to be a little more specific about what didn't work and what you did to configure it.

CUPS is for printing.

If Samba isn't working you have something mis-configured. You'll need to post specific information for specific answers.
