Widescreen display problem on rhel5

I am new to this forum.I am a both rhel5 and fedora user.I can not configure my Samsung syncmaster 632nw monitor to display full screen at 1360X768.There is huge black space both left and right side of the monitor. I have tried many times to solve it but unable to do it.The max screen resolution is 1024*768 and minimum is 640*480.

Here is the xorg.conf file:

# Xorg configuration created by system-config-display

Perhaps you should known which resolutions support your chipset.
For example:
Intel® 82810

jump from 1280x1024 at 24 bit at 1600x1200 but only at 8 bit.
In the meantime you could try if you can use:

SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600"
EndSubSection

If don't work at 1280*1024 perhaps you could tried to change:
#Using vesa instead of i810 as your driver.
Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "vesa"
EndSection

Thanks AleLinuxBSD.

I have no problem with windows os.So I think its chipset supported. The display device detail is given bellow ( I get it from dxdiag command from windows xp):

Name:Intel(R)82865G Graphics Controller
Chip type: Intel(R)82865G Graphics Controller
DAC type:Internal
Approx.Total memory:96.0 MB
Current display mode :1280x768(32bit)(60HZ)

I try ur code but it changes nothing.
