hi i want to run wi fi on my laptop on rhel 5
i can configure the wi fi on ubntu 9.04 but iam not able to do on rhel

i have only:
ip address
router address
dns server address
network key

i have entered all but iam not able to ping from my router.

one person(pryag_pjs) help me in this matter but ...........wi fi not working.
plz tell me step by step procedure.

may be there are chances that i have entered information in the wrong fields because when i open network -configuration wizard and when click on new/wireless after that it asks a lot of thing, iam not sure about network mode choosen by me..............all like that
but one thing happen that ultimately when i click on activate button it gets activated
but still not pinging from router

there should not be much to configure on client side. Check if nm-applet show your network SSID and try to connect.
In terminal:iwconfig, ifconfing, lspci and lsusb show more informations.

There is no need to set IPs and DNS if router is configured with DHCP.
