Welcome to LinuxQuestions.

What virtualization software are you running i.e VirtualBox, VMware etc.

How is the virtual network adapter configured?

I assume in your post that by router you mean your physical router on your network.

How is your guest network adapter configured and what service do you have running on port 8080? The default network adapter setting is NAT which means your virtual machine is behind a software router and is essentially on a different network from your host.
