Why cannot i start serveral X window by startx --:number(in diffrent consoles)


I do not know why,but i some books say linux can start serveral X .

well, assuming you typed it all correctly.. you got the syntax wrong

startx -- :1

that will *officially* work... unofficially is another matter. if that's doesn't work, please give some more details.

What information do u want?

My video card is Geforce 200,the moniter is digital,XFree86 is 4.0.3,so is it ok?
