Im trying to install linux slackware 64-bit on a virtual environment using virtual box. unfortunately among the selections of the OSs to choose from when starting the virtual box only 32-bit versions of linux are available and I had to select: other Linux(32-bit). Anyways now I have a problem when booting the huge.s kernel. it says i need to choose a kernel compatible with an i686 processor. Can anyone tell me how to proceed? which kernel is compatible with 32-bit processor according to the virtual side of things.
Distribution: Mainly Devuan, antiX, & Void, with Tiny Core, Fatdog, & BSD thrown in.

I don't think it is possible to run a 64bit system on a 32bit system at all, there are too many differences.
You can however run a 32bit system on a 64bit system.
Any 32bit system should run OK on an i686.

FatMac is right that you cannot run a 64-bit OS in a VM on a 32-bit host. If you want to install Slackware, download a version with an x86 kernel. 14.2 is available.
This is so simple that I am wondering if I miss the point in your question. Not intended to be cynic or sarcastic.

There is a setting in Virtualbox for PAE. Select the VM you want to install. Click Settings. Select System in the left pane. Tab Processor. Enable PAE. Make sure your VM is still powered off while changing this.
In case you are not able to select this option it might be you physical processor does not support it. But I guess your system is really old then.
