Which Distro?


hi
i have to build a server for windows client (win xp 3 Desktop , win7 2 laptops ) to serve as a file server,dhcp,dns and squid which distro u suggest is the best.
also the distro must be compatible with HP Proliant ML110 G7
thanks ...

There is no best distro for this - any modern one will do. Personally, I'd use CentOS.

Well, from my experience, Red Hat is actually the best for dedicated servers.
Other wise, Cent OS, Debian, or the Server version of Ubuntu.

Centos is a free rebuild of RHEL; for RHEL updates/support, you have to pay. Centos gives you free updates but no support ... your choice

Given that you're asking this qn, I'd recommend starting with RHEL until you feel competent with Linux, then you could switch over to Centos.
