which distribution to start?


I accept suggestions on the linux distribution that is best for a newbie...
it would be nice if the suggestions are accompanied with some links.

if u comfartable to work in windows like environment then try out XANDROS

after that u can have a lok at knoppix(live CD distro)

then u can some hardcore linux distros like the slackware,redhat,debian etc etc
have a look at distrowatch.com
and search through the LQ databse u will get some good answers

For information on all the Linux distro's, go toDistrowatch. There are download links there, or you can download from LQ Iso, right here on LQ.

Good beginner distro's are Mandrake or Suse, amongst others
