Where is my language bar?!?! (CYRILLIC)

I often write documents in Russian, English and Portuguese. When I used windows it was just one click in the language bar in the lower right corner it I could change to other languages outpt for my keyboard... Now how do I do this with Linux Mandriva 2005 LE (KDE)? I tried to look in the Help file but nothing... Using open office.org writer I did the following: Tools>Options>Languages and selected russian, but the keyboard layout is still English!!!! I have installed Russian, Portuguese, English, etc, support when I installed Mandriva! Does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks!

Guessing here, but don't you also have to change the keyboard layout as well ????? i.e. either the layout or maybe just the keyboard support (or something like that)???

Sorry I can't be more specific - I know this is possible, you might even be able to automate it, but I couldn't guess how.

regards

John

have you looked at the kcontrol center<whatever it's called> I think there is a Regional and Accessibility or something along that line? You should be able to change the keyboard layout from there.

I know that in GNOME, there is a "Keyboard Layout Indicator". Since you're using KDE, I'd imagine you'll have to play tricks with XKB
