Where do I add/delete/modify 'environment variables'?
I have just recently installed SuSE Linux Enterprise server 8. I uninstalled Java. I rebooted the machine and logged in as root. When I type 'env' in a shell, I notice I still have the environment variables:
JRE_HOME=/usr/lib/java/jre
JAVA_BINDIR=/usr/lib/java/bin
JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/java
JDK_HOME=/usr/lib/java
JAVA_ROOT=/usr/lib/java
Where are these being set? How do I stop these shell environment variables from being set?
FYI, I have checked /root/.profile and /etc/profile and they are not being set in these files.
