Hi,

Too my knowledge, Konqueror places downloaded files into the users home directory by default.

Check "Misc Options" -> "Show network operations". There should be an option that will, if checked/unchecked, show you a download dialog box. This will show the location the file(s) is put.

Did you right click and choose "save link as..". If so, start to download a file and see which directory is the starting point. You don't have to download the file, just do that as a test.
