What software can be use for live video streaming on linux

I would like to know what would be a good software for video streaming that can be use on linux. Now I able to here the sound from live but I can not see the picture. Also there is alot of buffering.

What are using now (you didn't mention anything) ? As a general answer, I think VLC could be a good choice http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

You probably still missing the media codec and perhaps the flash pluggin. Once you have that figured out you can try downloading VLC or Mplayer is a good one use SMplayer is the nicer GUI for Mplayer.
What distro are you using?
