I like Linux because I can install what I want without worrying about licenses and without having to think whether I want to install a "server" or "desktop" version.
I install one of my my favourite distributions then decide which software I want and which I don't. I can set up a web server or a terminal server a home entertainment system or a gaming PC and lots more besides using the same operating system and the same knowledge.
Linux really is what you make of it the only downside being some companies don't want to support it so you do have the occasional problem with software or hardware that can't be used. How important that software or hardware is to you will determine whether or not Linux is for you.
For more answers just google Linux and whatever it is you want to do.
Why linux is best suited for server ??
- Free for all server software
- More Stable for large server(depend on configuring)
- More Security
- More server software to choose
Why we didn't use window OS in most of servers ?
- Not free
- Less stable than linux
- Less Security
For server in my opinion is due to the vast amount of networking tools. And also cause the network stack itself is just well thought out, flexible and fast.
