I finally got Red Hat 9 fully installed, but I still couldn't boot off the harddrive, so I put the bootdisk in to boot. It boots fine to the part where it says "Mounting root file system" (or something similar) then it gets into an endless loop of errors that look similar to the one below:
Quote:
2
end_request: IO error, dev 03:01 (hda), sector 3154272
hda: dma_intr status 0x51{ DriveReady SeekComplete Errror }
hda: dma_intr error 0x41 { UNCORRECTABLY error }, LBAsect=3154272

Is that a problem reading the harddrive? Is it because of a bad harddrive? This is installed on a 5gb drive I got from a friends (who said it worked). Should I just get a new drive?
Thanks
