vscode appears as not installed in the terminal but it is clearly installed.

Vs code appears as not installed in the terminal but it is clearly installed.
I am trying to remove vs code because I am having problems with some python modules and I have read that one of the things I could do is to remove it and reinstall it.
When I go to remove it it tells me that vs is not installed which is not true cause im using at the moment, what can it be?

What distro are you using? What command are you typing into the terminal to check if it's installed? How do you know that it's installed? How are you trying to remove it?

No. I was just checking because that's another way that you could have possibly installed vscode.

vscode may be installed (or may have been installed) in 3 different ways. As a flatpak, directly from the system repo using apt, or using git. Each method is different and the result of each is invisible to the other methods.

Is it possible that you have installed vscode twice, using a different method for each, and have only removed one version?
If so then for a complete removal you would need to use the same method used for the install to perform the removal.

It certainly is possible for a package that was installed in more than one way to have interference between the versions. This is commonly seen when using a locally compiled and installed version as well as one from the package repo -- especially if the compiled version is installed second and may overwrite libraries or similar.

The only certain way to avoid conflicts is to only install by one method and if wanting to change the install method then remove the first before installing the second.
