VMware Tools

I have installed all the RPM packages I need, I think but how do I know if the VMware Tools are running? Very new to Linux(RHEL 6.5) and in a very complicated and desperate situation. Thanks!

Copy a document in the Virtual machine and paste it in the host operating system. If the file transfers from one to the other (either direction), vm-tools is working. If vm-tools are not working, often you cannot get the VM to full screen, and can't transfer files from one to the other.
