I most write my notes in vim or any other text editor.I wanted to know if there is anyway one could have automatic bullet lists and numbered lists in vim or does anyone know an extremely lightweight text editor that does support it?

There is the Vim Outliner, which does bulleted lists, nested lists, list folding, etc. I don't think it supports numbered lists, but I could be wrong about that. http://www.vimoutliner.org/postnuke-...-0.7.2.3/html/
