Viewing Full Screen Streaming Video

I have been trying to view streaming video (hulu.com, youtube.com, etc) on my LCD TV (Sony KDL-40V5100). The video is dropping frames when I view in full screen mode. I am currently running with Ubuntu 9.10 and have installed both the Adobe plug-ins.

Thanks for any help!

The flashplayer plugin does not have a good perfomance in linux. Especially in full screen mode. It is reported in some cases that you might have better performance by disabling the plugin hardware acceleration. I didnt noticed any difference though.

I have now installed the 32 bit 9.10 ubuntu (I was running with dual boot and USB boot to see if I could get it to work). The computer is connected to the tv via HDMI. If I install the proprietary drivers I get sound but the video drops frames. When I uninstall the drivers I can see the video fine but have no sound. Any suggestions of how to fix this or who to contact for more help?

Thanks!

The problem ended up being a video card that could not support the data.

Thanks for the help!
