View python script

Hey Gang!

Man, this is a noob question, sorry for this...I just reinstalled and downloaded youtube-dl, I'd like to view the source, but none of the applications show the source. What do I do to see the source?

Thanks for putting up with this dumm-question

Thor

well they've compiled it for some reason, no idea why. but you can see the code on git easily enough, directly linked from the project site https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/

Thanks acid_kewpie That could be the problem, didn't know that was possible (in Python) - I just did an update via youtube-dl (should'nt have done that?) and had to enter the sudo pass...
Now, I'd just want to look at the code...
(of course, it could be just my old paranoia working up...)
(had a look at netstat, iftop and top nothing suspicious...)
