I just installed Deepin on my desktop. I have a VGA display and an HDMI display. The HDMI is no problem but the VGA single resolution is a problem. I changed it using the following command "xrandr --addmode VGA1 1280x1024" and find it acceptable. When re-booting I find this disappears and I have to run command again. Is there a way to make this permanent?
While RandomTroll's answer is technically valid, more information would help us and you try understand why this is happening, and whether some other action might be desirable or preferable. Do these without having run xrandr --addmode since booting:
From the last, please post the URL the command provides. The others can be redirected to a file or files if that makes it easier for you to paste here using the code icon [#] above the input window. You may need to install one or more of these commands first.
Thank you so much for your replies. My first goal was to get a driver for 1366x768 resolution which I know looks good. I was presented with an option only for 1280x1024 which was a bit better than the 1024x768 default. I need to study terminal commands so that I can provide cohesive feedback to your suggestions. xrandr now doesn't show the 1280x1024 as an option.
