/usr/src/linux


Hi. What's the usual contents of /usr/src/linux directory? And why is it missing from my Mandrake-9.0 distribution?

its the source of linux kernel- you'll need it to compile device drivers etc. Its missing because you didnt install it. If u want to install it type
uname -r in shell to find out your kernel version and then insall the source from web or from 3rd cd?..i think

You didn't install the developmental packages? As root, command:
urpmi gcc
An Introduction to the Midnight Commander. You can install it by commanding:
urpmi mc
