USB blues.

OK I have just setup Slackware 9.0 on my computer at home, and I totally scratched Windows from my computer. I am leaving Microsoft Behind and have decided that I wanna stay open source indefinitely.

Anyway, now to my problem. I have a USB Mouse/Keyboard setup. Logitech Wireless Desktop.

I cannot figure out how to get these to work with my system. When it boots up I get a few usb errors, but it seems to load uhci, hid, mousedev, kbdev correctly.

I have cat /proc/bus/usb/mice and when I move the mouse or punch keys on the keyboard it doesn't produce ramdom characters as I would expect.

I have went into rc.modules and made sure everything USB was enabled.

Also My system recognizes my USB printer fine, but I don't know how to setup a printer in Linux yet.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I can't help with Slackware configuration, but I do know that if you have both USB 2.0 connectors and 1.1 connectors, you should stick with v1.1 connectors. I saw similar behaviour installing RedHat on a Dell Optiplex GX260, which has both USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports. dmesg would show the driver load properly for the 1.1 ports, but fail for the 2.0 ports. This sounds a helluva lot like what you've got, but I dunno...

Actually I'm pretty sure all mine are v1.1 The device may support 2.0 but I don't have any 2.0 ports on my machine.

After I get home tonight I will post up the info that I have in my rc.modules, and dmesg information. If there is anything else that might be of help, please let me know.
