An exact error message (copy/paste) would be useful.

Enter 'uname -r' to confirm that you are running the matching release level to the kernel-devel you are pointing at. It must be an exact match.

Have you applied the latest vmware patch (see comment #6, above)?

i dont know how to check what exactly the header version is. uname -r will show me kernel version and i got header for that i think. i will install the header again and see if that works.

rpm -q kernel-devel

Will give you the release of the kernel headers.
