Update problem mint xfce 13 HELP please


can anybody explain this to me and how I can fix it thanks.

Failed to fetch http://packages.medibuntu.org/dists/precise/Release.gpg Something wicked happened resolving 'packages.medibuntu.org:http' (-5 - No address associated with hostname)

Hmm, looks like there is a problem with the site:

"Medibuntu has now been shut down, the packagers were either obsolete, unnecessary or moved to the official Ubuntu archive. "

To avoid the error, you can edit /etc/apt/sources.list and remove the offending line. If you are using libdvdcss, you could add the videolan repository to make sure you get updates.

Here's one way:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
That will open sources.list in the gedit editor.

Then add the appropriate line from the Videolan link in Robhogg's post and delete the dead repos. Save the file.

OK I got the Medibuntu stuff straightened out;update manager working properly now,thanks greatly!
I am not understanding this Videolan repository though.I allready have libdvdcss installed in package
mngr.Am I missing something here? Bear with me;I'm no newbie but I am FAR from an expert.

No what he was saying above that Mediubuntu reporsitory is shutdown for good, end of life.

So if you need libdvdcss or want to keep it updated, at the other repository he suggested. Even if you have it installed, I would recommend you to add the repository so it can recieve updates.

OK, I managed to add the Videolan repository.Now when i try to install libdvdcss2 I get an "untrusted sources"error.

Did you install the key for that repository? If you didn't thats why its throwing those errors.

I've tried,but could'nt figure out how to install the key for that(Videolan) repository.
