i just downloaded mozilla-firebird rpm and started using it.I tried to install the java vm plugin into it by making links to jre library in /usr/lib/mozilla-firebird/plugins directory just the way i did for mozilla earlier. But it won't work and gives the following errors:

LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /home/rsingh/java/jdk1.3.1_01/jre/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so [/home/rsingh/java/jdk1.3.1_01/jre/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so: undefined symbol: __vt_17nsGetServiceByCID]

I believe you are going to have to use the installer that came with the java rpm. For example, when you downloaded and rpm'd the flashplayer plugin you had to run ./flashplayer-install and follow the directions, simply linking them doesn't seem to be a fool proof way to do this.
