I kind of regret upgrading to quickly. I had only been using Ubuntu three days when the upgrade notice popped up. I was barely getting used to what I had and now I feel like I am having to start over somewhat.

Go to system>Applications>terminal (or gnoterm,xterm, something with TERM in it)
So click what would be the 'start' on windows, Go to Application on the menu that pops up, click Terminal (or variant of).
Then you can type what people have recommended this way:
Code:
$ sudo words stuffblah
If someone has asked for the OUTPUT, that means after you press enter, what ever the computer displays back to you, you
copy &
paste to your posts.
