Hi sir ,

I have installed ubuntu linux 9.04 now i want to install gipmsg-0.4.0beta1 . when i fire ./configure command it reply

checking for gtk-config... no
checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.0... no
*** The gtk-config script installed by GTK could not be found
*** If GTK was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GTK_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to gtk-config.
configure: error: GTK not installed

what should i do for getting installed gipmsg0.40betal .

Maybe you first need to install build-essential

Code:

sudo apt-get install build-essential

I have installed build-essential package but it show same error .

Well, I thought that development package of gtk was in the essential....

The error message is saying that you need gtk with a version >1.2.0.

Install it with

Code:

sudo apt-get install libgtk1.2-dev

If it is already installed then for some reasons it is not in your path.

First try to install libgtk1.2-dev e see if it works
