Exclamation ubuntu partitions cant be seen in windows


Greetings:

I have a dual boot (xp and ubuntu).When i boot in ubuntu i can see the windows partions (c:\ and d:\ --NTFS).But when i boot in xp,i can't see the linux partition.I have one logical partition in ubuntu. What is the problem here,what configurations do i need. I created the linux partitions using partition magic. thnx

No problem.

XP doesn't support Linux and it won't mount it. That is all.

You need special program in XP to mount a Linux partition. It is not provided by the distro. The system files of one OS is no use to another OS and it can be dangerous to play with them with a foreign system.

If you want to pass data put them in a Fat32 partition which can be both read/written by just about every PC system.

there's a driver that will let you read and write to ext2/3 partitions in windows, though file permissions won't apply on that platform..
