Hello
I am new to Linux, but had success with install with 12.0.04 on another windows machine. I have been attempting to install version Ubuntu 14 on another computer with windows 7 and receive errors with /tmp file at present I receive a message the tmp file is read only, what is the best way to clean this problem.

Adding to EDDY1's response...

Please review the following, as to the correct procedure for creating a dual boot between Ubuntu and Windows 7 (it is somewhat different than a dual boot with XP, if that happened to have been your previous experience):

http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu_T...ows_and_Ubuntu

I'm posting from a dual boot of Ubuntu 14.04 and Windows 7 Home Premium. I've set up several similar dual boots for friends and family, and have never run into a /tmp file issue.

IMO, starting from scratch again, might be the best choice to solve your problem, though someone else here on the forums might come along with a more direct solution to your problem...
