Hello all and I'm a very much so NEWBIE!!
Paid and received the 9.10 i386 Cd from "Linux Information Technology
Your on-line CD Specialist and Linux Consultants" and have tried in vain with the installation!

I have a desktop AMD PC with XP sp2- tried, and zero
I have a Toshiba laptop Win 7- tried and zero.

Pls note: I tried to install from "INSTALL INSIDE WINDOWS" menu

This is the error I receive
"An error occurred. Invalid argument. For more info, please see log file: c:\docume^t\family^\loca\temp......etc

its something simply ..right??

You can't install from inside windows. You need to go back and boot from the CD(which you have).
Some issues: make sure CD has higher priority in the boot sequence.
You need another partition to install Linux (This way you can use windows with linux)
At the time of installation it will ask you to install linux grub say YES. This grub will detect windows also
and ask your choice to boot from.
