Trying to get 1280x1024 but X is giving me trouble.

I went into my XF86Config file and added the desired resolution under the screen but it won't go into it, it just stays at 1024x768. Heres a copy of my config file.

Any help would be great, I have a Samsung 193v 19" flatpanel. Thanks.

Your config looks fine to me (at the first glance)...I'm not actually sure about this, but there is one thing regarding 3d-cards: usually (so I've heard) 3d-hardware stuff won't run on resolutions over 1024x768 too well. So that _might_ be the reason...altough, as I said, I'm not sure about this (meaning: shouldn't X still run on higher resolutions, but without 3d-hw?)

Are you sure your card/monitor does support that video mode?

Those refresh rates seem very low for a 19" monitor.

Do a search for your model monitor on the net and see if those values are incorrect. I just recently I could only go to 640x480 on a new distro, and it turned out it was that.

Just for example, my Compaq 19"s values are:

HorizSync 30.0 - 107.0
VertRefresh 48.0 - 120.0
