Trouble installing Pine on Fedora Core 5

I'm going through the LAMP book by Rosebrook/Filson, and I've got Fedora 5 set up on my PC. (They recommend Fedora 2, will that make much of a difference?)

Anyway, they give a link in their book to download Pine (from linuxforum). I downloaded successfully, then tried to install:

"rpm -ivh pine.i386.rpm"

and I got the error message:

"error: Failed dependencies:
libcrypto.so.4 is needed by pine-4.58-2.i386
liblber.so.2 is needed by pine-4.58-2.i386
libldap.so.2 is needed by pine-4.58-2.i386
libssl.so.4 is needed by pine-4.58-2.i386"

Am I trying to load the wrong file for Fedora 5, or am I missing something that should have been installed initially? Either way, where and how do I get what I need?

Thanks very much for any help!

I strongly reccomend the use of yum rather than rpm. "yum" will automatically resolve dependencies and download and install them.

Quote:
pine: if you read mail with pine on your machine, unfortunately pine does not come with fedora or fedora-extras. fortunately, it is available through a third-party repository:

1. save this as /etc/yum.repos.d/dries.repo
2. install dries' GPG key
3. now run:

yum -y install pine

now you have pine installed (and automatically updated) on your machine.
