Trouble Compiling rtl8150.c

Hi everyone,

I have been toiling with this problem for three days now.

First I had to get USB working which I finally beleive I have succeeded. I have a usb nic that uses the module driver rtl8150.c which is a realtek driver.

I have been trying to compile this driver all day.

Here is the command line that the guide.txt instructed me to use:

gcc -DMODULE -D__KERNEL__ -c rtl8150.c -I%/usr/src/linux/include

and this is what I get:

rtl8150.c:94: field `dr' has incomplete type

I don't understand why this is occuring, my kernel is 2.4.9.

Someone suggested that I may not have the correct 'symbolic links" setup but I do not completely understand what they are indicating.

thanks in advance!
