Hi
I am unable a transfer a file from minicom to kermit but able to transfer a charcter using serial port connection how i can solve this problem
thanks in advance
Since you have not provided any details on why a file transfer is not working it is difficult to provide specific help.
Since the connection appears to be working it is just a matter of selecting the option to transfer file, what protocol i.e. x,y or zmodem and the file to be transferred on one computer. Select receive on the other using the same protocol. If zmodem is selected you do not need to specify the file name.

As michaelk said, the first step is to provide some useful details. The second important thing to note here is that minicom doesn't come pre-loaded with Kermit...you need to install it first, then define the path/program name in minicom, before you can use it.
TBOne is correct kermit is a protocol as well as a file transfer program. I haven't played with kermit since DOS. The file transfer program does have access to external protocols.

You hijacked and reopened another three-year-old thread and asked your question again there. The moderator closed your OTHER duplicate...please re-read the LQ rules.
Also, I will again ask (see post #3), if you have actually INSTALLED kermit on the machine with minicom, and have configured it??? Kermit is NOT installed by default in Linux (at least not openSUSE0, nor configured in Minicom. Again, you are providing no real details (version/distro of Linux? Kermit installed? Minicom configured??), so it's hard to help.
