Question Tips to start.....


Anybody out there that knwos of a good book or site or anything that get you started on Linux for e.g. easy to read and/or understand how the general (Standard) file structure is, or good practises or even a step by step guide where and how to start your first Linux box/server for e.g. good practises, system files are alwyas kept in x or y maybe something liek a translator?

I knwo the above sound sstupid but I'm just trying to see if there isn't an easier way of spending 5 hours to set up a bx...........

I have been looking for somthing to use as a NEWBIE Guide myself.
Just installed Mandrake a few days ago and have been sitting there staring at it ever since.
This is my first try with Linux. And am impressed with what I see, so far.

Thank you people and it is nice to find somthign better than the "other" problemsoft most of us waisted time on..........

Any more tips will be appreciated and who knows maybe sometime I can put somethign back on!!!!!
