I get this on my logs for just about every single service... does this mean all the thresholds are set wrong? That was my understanding from what I read, any insight on this?

Are you using mysql for storing nagios output?
Did you recently change any thing ?

Are the last time check on the other services is recent ?

I am guessing we are using mysql for storing the nagios output but not 100% sure.. I am still checking.

The only thing that was changed was that the interconnects are now set up using a switch and not crossover cables but I wouldnt think that would do anything?

What do you mean by last time check on the other services? Here is a larger list and for 3 days of logs all the services get this message every 5-10 minutes:

Ok I have seen those messages, But I can't remember why it was.

For sure it was one of the following 2 which is caused it.

1-I tried to trim mysql, and end up deleting "longentry" table entries from the data base, reinstalling db for nagios fixed mysql.

2-On day time saving it stopped updating, so in nagios.cfg I had to make cache option to 1, I think, then restart nagios and let it run, after a day I brought that option
back what it was.

I am like 80% sure it was the first one, when I deleted mysql tables.
So make sure your data is baing sink in mysql properly.

I can live with 80% I will test it out and see what I find!
