DaVinci appear to have moved to a model where the expected install environment is that of a professional video-editing "workstation", along with much of their own proprietary hardware.
I use Openshot...Lightworks

Not properly, I will wash my hands of DaVinci after reading your well informed post Mike, thanks for reply. I will admit I have displayed that tendency of locking myself into the mindset of having that one program. I haven't been able to post straight away because of Cloudfare delays until now.
