SUN's java
You do not
it no longer exists
there is NO "sun java " any more
Oracle bought sun
you can install Oracles java
but the default RHEL6.5 is OpenJDK 1.6
RHEL 6.5 is the current and not RHEL 6.4
BUT
if you CHANGE the default openjdk with Oracles java 1.6 ( DEAD -DO NOT USE !!!! )
or Oracles java 1.7 ( it is VERY DIFFERENT than 1.6 ) you MUST set alternatives
openjdk1.6 "should" already be installed but if not than as the above post
"yum install java-1.6.0-openjdk"
but you MUST have a registered and PAID FOR support license from redhat to install software
you must buy the required support contract
how can I install sun-java6-jdk on Redhat 6.4 64 Bit.
If for any other specific reason, like me, where i use FreeRapid Downloader app which wants Sun/Oracle Java only and not OpenJDK to run, then check the following link.
Following links cover all - installing JDK/JRE 32/64 bit. Pick and run only lines that are applicable to you:
