SQL (queries)


hi friends,
I am newbei of linux,i am using knoppix 4.0.1.
I want to do some database work.But i dont know how to use sql on linux.Is commands for oracle 7i be use on linux;
thank you

You'll need client software to talk to the database - Oracle 7 is old but you can probably download client software from Oracle (version 8 was the earliest version I used on Linux). If all you want to do is run queries against a database look for SQLPlus. There are plenty of tutorials for Oracle, SQL and SQLPlus - just use google:

commands are specficc to the sql instance you use, not what operating system it runs on... you can run oracle on linux, which would obviosuly use the oracle sql commands. mysql and postgresql have different conventions.
